Aksaray is 40 km away. The Ihlara Valley is a cemal shaped valley formed as a result of the stream erosion of the lavas sprayed from the Hasandağı valley.
At the end of millions of years, Melendiz has brought this valley with its canyon-like appearance to its height of 14 kilometers and reaching 110 meters in height.
In the early ages Melendiz tea, which provided the canyon that got its way from these cracks, was called "Potamus Kapadukus" which means Cappadocia rach.
